Production Strategy

My favorite place I explored in my Drift #1 walk was the wooded area behind my parents' house. It is very expansive: it includes a hockey rink and baseball diamond as it is a camp for inner-city children. I have always loved exploring back there, but this time with my camera, I felt I could really find life in the otherwise deserted place. I went back much further than I did for my Drift #1 walk, hoping to come across things I had never seen.

My whole goal was to simply find places free of people. I took shots that avoided any semblance of civilization or included only one person away from the craziness of the world. I tried to take out images that included cars or pedestrians and sounds where traffic or people could be heard. I wanted either one person to be observed or myself as the filmmaker being absolutely alone.

My image-capturing strategies went hand-in-hand with my overall purpose:
I took only shots where no one could be observed besides the central focus of the sketch.
I eliminated any and all "human contact" (ie: cars, passing people) in pursuit of isolation.
